BIRMINGHAM – March 29, 2010 – Local pastors and members of various Alabama faith-based organizations gathered today to voice their support for Republican gubernatorial candidate, Tim James.
The Faith and Family Values Coalition for Tim James is supporting the Greenville businessman because he consistently stands for five key values they believe to be of utmost importance during the 2010 election cycle.
James champions issues he has fought for his entire life – Protecting the Sanctity of Life, Defending Marriage and Families, Opposing Gambling, Promoting Financial Integrity in Government and Making Government Processes and Officials Accountable to the People.
“Tim James doesn’t just talk about family values and faith during election time,” said John Killian an Alabama Baptist pastor. “These principles are his convictions, and he lives by them each day. Tim consistently emphasizes his belief each human life is to be valued and protected, at every stage and circumstance. Tim treats people with the respect they deserve as children of God and he has always fought to protect the unborn. As governor, these values will define his administration.”
The group is hosting a free reception which will be open to the public Tuesday, March 30 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Marriott Hotel on Highway 280.
“This reception will give Alabamians the opportunity to hear Tim talk about his Christian faith and true conservative values and issues,” said Reverend Tom Caradine, State Chairman of the Faith and Family Values Coalition for Tim James. “But most importantly, Tim will listen one-on-one to people of faith talk about what’s on their minds.”
