Today Senator Lowell Barron (D), sponsor of SB121-roads and bridges construction legislation, announced on the senate floor that republican gubernatorial candidate Bradley Byrne has endorsed his bill. Byrne’s campaign says this is not true. See the response from Byrne below.

“An adequate and safe system of roads and bridges is one of Alabama’s greatest needs when it comes to growing our economy and creating the jobs that we desperately need. For that reason, I support the concept behind Senate Bill 121; and I’m hopeful that during the course of this session, Republican amendments will be fairly considered and lawmakers will work together to adopt those that will enable us to move forward with these necessary projects, protect our state assets and serve all the people of Alabama.”
